Dear University Community:
It is with great sadness that I write so early in the New Year to inform you of the death of Christopher Crafa, a junior mechanical engineering major and member of our swimming and diving team. Chris, 20, died Dec. 31 of a sudden cardiac event near his home in Garden City, New York.
Our first priority is to honor Chris and his memory by supporting his family and close friends, and to respect their privacy as they mourn his passing.
Campus Ministry, the Counseling Center, and the Dean of Students are available to provide support to members of the University community. The 9 p.m. Sunday Mass on Jan. 13 will be offered for Chris.
Please join me and our entire campus community as we extend our deepest condolences to the Crafa family. May Chris rest in peace.
